Hey dears! It’s Annika, {@annikawilson} making another tip for you ♥
I’m one of those super-organized people, and it’s not as easy as everyone thinks. I’ve simplified it into an easy system to your whole life more organized and manageable.
O1. LiFE ♥
~ Buy a simple calendar to hang on the wall, mine is in my closet so you can’t see it from the room {it also has kitties on it}
~ Take time to sit down with your calendar and write in all your friend’s birthdays, vacations you’re going on, and when tests/projects are due.
~ Don’t book too many things in one day. Make a list from most important to least important. Get the important things done first, the others can wait.
~ Don’t involve yourself in too many activities that you can’t be 1OO% faithful to everything.
~ Make a schedule you can actually stick too. Fit it to your life, if you shop a lot, leave a lot of time for that. If you’re a work-a-holic, leave time for that as well.
~ Prioritize everything, and keep those top things at the top of your life.
~ Set alarms on your phone if that will help you, and keep a list of things to do on a draft or note as well. So you can have easy access to your schedule.
O2. ACTiViTiES ♥
~ Pick one or two extra activities, you can’t do it all. Try to pick one school related activity, like soccer or dance team. Then choose one hobby you like, like sewing or cooking classes.
~ Get the schedules BEFORE you commit and make sure they don’t conflict and you have time to do them.
~ Add all the events your activities require to your calendar.
~ Be 5-15 minutes early at all times, being late is never good.
O3. CHORES + ERRANDS ♥
~ Make a weekly schedule for all the things you need to be done, and keep that schedule year round to get you in a routine so you never forget anything.
~ Make a list of all the places you have to go, and make the list in order of what’s closet to the next place, so you don’t drive all over town.
~ Set a time limit for how long to do each chore/errand. Don’t go over. This will also help you stay motivated to get everything done.
~ Run errands during low traffic hours, and do the chores at home when traffic is crazy. It’s a major time-saver.
O4. CLOSET ♥
~ Take everything out of your closet, and separate it into categories {tops, bottoms, dress, shoes, etc.}
~ Next, arrange from color and shape. But all the pencil skirts together. And the pencil skirts in color order {red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, grey, black, brown, tan, white}
~ Select a designated place for each category. Generally tops on top racks, and bottoms on bottom rack.
~ Keep dress shoes in shoe boxes or a shoe rack in your closet. Place bags on a shelf in color order. Keep scarves and belts hanging up in your closet.
~ For your jewelry, try a hanging jewelry holder and color organize. If you have a lot, like me, invest in a standing jewelry case. Keep earrings in one drawer, bracelets in another, necklaces hanging, etc. Color categorize these as well.
~ After you wear something, and wash it, be sure to put it back in the exact same spot.
~ Set limits for budget and time when shopping. Don’t go over!
~ Save time shopping, but taking everything to the dressing room at one time, don’t go back and forth a hundred times.
O5. BEAUTY ♥
~ Buy containers for your makeup. A turn wheel made for kitchen utensils works great for brushes.
~ Keep loose eyeshadow palates in a pencil box. Blushes in another, foundations in one, etc.
~ Dedicate a drawer to your extra makeup that doesn’t stay in your daily routine. Place the containers listed above in these drawers.
~ Buy a small caboodle for your everyday makeup. Fill each slot with the different products you use, lips products in one, eyes in another.
~ Line nail polishes by color in a small container and add to the drawer as well. Or line up neatly on your desk or wherever you get ready.
~ Dedicate another drawer to your bottled supplies or line them along with your nail polish. Big bottles in back, shorter in front. Try categorizing these as well, hairsprays together, serums together, and so on.
~ Line a drawer with heat-proof material. You can get this at a craft store, the same stuff heat sleeves are made of. Place your straighteners, curling irons, blow dryers in there.
~ Schedule to get hair trims every few months.
O6. SCHOOLWORK / WORK ♥
~ Keep your locker/workspace neat, each subject together. And never leave loose papers laying around.
~ If you have the room, get individual folders or binders for each subject. Or use dividers in one big binder. Keep everything in its own section.
~ Have an extra folder for those random papers in your locker.
~ Always have adequate supplies, and actually bring them to school.
~ Use a color code system for each subject. Same color binder, folder, pencils, and highlighters.
~ Have a notebook to list all homework, projects, quizzes, and tests in. Check off items after they have been completed.
~ Be 5-15 early, have a good breakfast.
~ Schedule your outfits a few days ahead so you have no rushing in the morning to get something together.
O7. EXERCiSE ♥
~ Create a daily work-out routine. List each exercise and how long to do it.
~ Set aside a certain time to exercise, you need the energy to stay this organized.
~ Don’t overdo it, start simple, and increase later.
~ If you exercise with others, plan ahead when and where you will be exercising that week.
O8. FOOD ♥
~ Plan for the week what meals you will have, and what you need for all of them.
~ When you go grocery shopping, make a list and get everything on it.
~ Don’t freeze the meat you will eat within the first 2 days of the week. Thaw in the fridge for a day the meats you will eat the other days.
~ Leave enough time in your day to have a meal, or plan to get takeout that day.
~ While the food is cooking, try doing a few small tasks in the kitchen. Don’t actually leave the room.
O9. FAMiLY + FRiENDS ♥
~ Set aside time for them, they are important!
~ Make little dates with your friends and relax.
~ Be sure to write down any get-togethers in your calendar so you don’t forget them. Leave yourself plenty of time for any events.
O1. THE HOME ♥
~ In your kitchen, use organizers for all your utensils.
~ Keep your pots and pans in the same spots. Don’t stack inside of each other. Try hanging them, or if you have lots of cabinets, place them in there.
~ Keep all the cleaning supplies in one cabinet all together. Put the bigger things in the back so you can see the small items.
~ Color organize all the laundry, have baskets for reds, darks, whites, and towels. Now you don’t have to sort later.
~ Tidy the living room daily.
~ Keep cooking meals in a timely manner, try crock pot meals. Or casseroles so you can cook and do other things at the same time.
~ Organize book shelves and drawers, and keep them neat.
~ Have a schedule for what days you clean which rooms.
That’s all for now! Love you dears!
Keep it Classy,
Annika ♥
